This two bedroom (sleeps 5), 1.5 bath home includes all that you need for rest and relaxation from the world's daily grind. Reconnect with nature sitting on the expansive 32 X16’ deck overlooking the primitive Blue Ridge mountains or take a walk down the private half-mile road with yourself or a furry companion. Check out the game shelves or grab a book from the house. Rest in the hammock with the sweet sound of a pileated woodpecker, hawk or finch. Relax by the firepit under an astrophile's delight. Unwind in our newly updated hot tub with jets, heat and lighting adjustable to your liking. Take advantage of the large gas stove and cooking appliances galore as you create your favorite dish with the mountain view in front of you. Connect to the provided stereo system, open the house doors and windows and dance to your favorite music without the worry of disturbing any neighbors nearby.
Located just 25 minutes from downtown Hendersonville and in the heart of apple country, there is plenty of activities nearby. From apple orchards to waterfalls, adventure is calling. The house is just eight minutes away from breathtaking (and perhaps heart-stopping) views at World's Edge and just 12 minutes from a favorite Winery, Point Lookout Vineyard (again with stunning panoramic mountain views). Another must-do is the town of Chimney Rock about 30 minutes from the house with the Chimney Rock State Park nearby. Visit some of our favorite waterfalls in the area under 45 minutes at either Hickory Nut Falls at Chimney Rock State Park or Pearson's Falls located in the quaint village of Tryon, NC. Enjoy local hiking trails at World's Edge, The Lower Big Hungry Trail or Bear Wallow Mountain Trail.
Groceries, restaurants, local beer and cider breweries, wineries, dessert shops, coffee and tea are all within 12 to 30 minutes of this cabin in the woods. Come in the late summer to early winter season and take advantage of the multitude of Apple Orchards all less than a 20-minute drive. Interested in a WNC tour of top places? East Flat Rock, Lake Lure, Mills River, Asheville, Biltmore Forest, Brevard, and Columbus are all within an hour of the property.
As with many a mountaintop experience, it would not be complete without some gravel and/or dirt road driving. Up until the last 0.5 miles of the drive, you will be on a state maintained paved two-way (sometimes very winding) road. The last 0.5 miles of your journey will be on a gravel and then dirt road. The gravel road is shared by three houses and then you turn left on the dirt/gravel private road that takes you to the cabin. You do not need 4-wheel drive to navigate this part of the trip. However, there are a couple short inclines that work best if you stay a steady speed without stopping. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions about the drive.
