Explore the Emerald Outback by hiking or biking, and visit the Buckeye Recreation Center, just a short three-mile drive away, which features basketball courts, tennis courts, racquetball courts, a playground, and a lake ideal for fishing and paddle boating. The town of Banner Elk is six miles away and offers attractions like Lees-McRae College, Sugar Creek Gem Mining, the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, and the Banner Elk Winery. Grandfather Mountain is just 30 minutes away, and Boone is 45 minutes from the cabin.
