Looking for a mountain getaway that is private but not too far away from restaurants, breweries, and hiking? Then plan your stay at the Hendo Hideaway. Located only 12 minutes from downtown Hendersonville,10 minutes from DuPont State Park, and 20 minutes to Brevard, 5 to Kanuga Bike Park – you can do it all. Enjoy a day hiking to waterfalls and an evening grilling on the wrap around porch or checking out a new restaurant downtown.
The home has a great layout. Upstairs on the main level you will find 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms, den, kitchen, and laundry room. The kitchen is fully stocked with most cooking utensils and gadgets that you would need to make a gourmet meal. We have a keurig and large coffee maker provided. We also have a crock pot and griddle. The ice maker does not work on the fridge. We offer a large 8 person dining table right in front of double sliding glass doors to feel the cool breezes and enjoy the view while you dine. A large comfy sectional couch is in the den area to curl up and read a good book or watch tv on the smart TV mounted above the wood burning fire place-wood is provided.
Down the spiral staircase is another den area with pull out couch and kitchenette. In the kitchenette area is a small dorm size fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. A queen bedroom and full bathroom are also located downstairs. A door is located between the two levels that can be closed that leads upstairs so perfect when traveling with multiple families. The downstairs also has it's own entrance with sitting area and access to the backyard.
A fire pit is provided with wood.
Wifi is provided complimentary but please note we are in a wooded area so it could be subject to weather.
We do provide a starter set of paper towels, 8 coffee pods, dishwasher tablets, and a few trash bags. Please bring extra of these items should you need more.
Only 10 guest allowed on the property. This applies to visitors as well. NO LARGE GATHERINGS allowed.
There is only room for 4 cars to park in our driveway. Parking is not allowed on the road. Plan accordingly with everyone staying at the property.
Less than 10 minutes area attractions: Flat Rock: restaurants such as Honey & Salt, Flat Rock Village Bakery, Campfire Grill, and St.Paul vineyard tasting room. Carl Sandburg Home with hiking trails and the Flat Rock Playhouse.

Less than 15 minutes: Downtown Hendersonville with restaurants, bakeries, shops, Hands On Children's Museum, Aquarium and Shark Lab, Moonshine Mountain (Snow Tubing),Dupont State Forest, Holmes State Park, and Kanuga bike trail.
30 minutes away: wineries and more breweries
45 minutes away: Chimney Rock State Park, Lake Lure, downtown Asheville
Winter: Please note that we do experience snow on occasion. The roads do get scraped but only after the snow ends. So please be aware of the weather and know that there is the potential for snowy weather during the winter months. Please plan accordingly.
