The welcoming nature is felt on arrival - the wood-burning stove, the skylight windows, the exposed beams, and the many small details that will draw you into your weekend home. The cabin sits on a private lake with over 9 miles of trails on the property for you to explore. This spacious cabin sleeps up to 8 people and would be a perfect family getaway. Whether you want to relax, unplug, and rejuvenate or if you want a day full of adventure!
The space:
Winkler Garden’s sits on 1500 private acres nestled in the foothills right alongside the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin has 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.
Outside, there is a fully covered porch with plenty of rocking chairs and a large covered patio with a dining table perfect for hosting outdoor meals. Guests will also have access to the private 8 acre lake where they can enjoy activities such as fishing, swimming, and kayaking. Guests are welcome to use our canoe, kayak, or flat bottom boat.
There are 2 queen bedrooms (one equipped with a crib), and 2 king bedrooms giving plenty of room for families with kids to enjoy each other all while having their own space. Each bedroom is equipped with their own private bathroom.
The kitchen is well equipped and includes a coffee bar with a coffee pot, and Keurig. Coffee and tea will be provided as well.
Appreciate the seclusion of the property but also enjoy the convenience of a quick drive to popular cafe/bars, breweries, trails and more! Located only 15 minutes from West Jefferson, you will have quick access to a number of great restaurants, breweries, wine tastings, cheese tastings, shopping, local art, and more!
Linens, towels, and toiletries are provided. The house also has basic equipment for children including a baby cot, high chair, toys, sippy cups, etc.
We are happy to share our space with people who want to use it as a retreat to enjoy quality time with friends and family. Please note this is not a party rental.
Please also note that this is a remote location with lots of wildlife, creatures big and small frequent the property.
Guest access:
You can access the whole property! The cabin and the entire outdoor space. Guests are welcome to all the amenities which includes access to the canoe, kayak, flat bottom boat, as well as the lake, trails, gardens, and mountain bikes.
Private fly fishing experiences are offered with Brushy Mountain Anglers. Talk to the property manager to arrange if interested!

Our property manager lives on site just down the road from the cabin. If guests need assistance with anything, a helper is nearby!

We recommend bringing groceries as the nearest grocery store (Ingles, Walmart) is about 15-20 minutes away in West Jefferson.
The tap water is fresh from our well below ground and fully filtered and drinkable.
