Unwind in an antique, former general store near Stone Mtn. St. Park, NC | Apartment in Traphill

1 Bedroom Apartment in Traphill
My recently restored antique building (circa 1908), formerly a general store (which is on the historic registry of NC), is located in the historic district of Traphill which is nestled in north eastern Wilkes County. Stone Mountain State Park is 5 minutes away, the Blue Ridge Parkway 15 minutes. There are also many vineyards and wineries nearby.
Sit in the 10' x 20' screened in porch to relax or sit on the rocking chairs just steps away on the porch of a 1840s log cabin moved and restored on my property. Walk inside and take a trip back in time with the vintage decor. There is a kitchen when you enter through the side porch into the apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed and dresser. The spacious bathroom has a new claw foot tub with shower that overlooks the orchard and antique tobacco barn. The old store front has the original shelves and counters. This area just oozes history. The original settler, William Blackburn, came here around 1775 and established his home across the street from my property. He was a hunter and trapper whom developed a railpen trap to catch wild turkeys. Hence the original name Trap Hill. In the early 1840s Eng and Chang Bunker, the famous performing Siamese twins, built their first American home just down the road. Local lore says they lived on my property while they built their farmhouse (which is still there!). There is a photo of a log cabin on my property where they probably stayed during construction. Come visit this 'blue zone', where many live to be over 100 and unwind in the beauty of the foothills of Wilkes County.
Merlefest is 30 minutes away. Downtown Wilkesboro holds a hugely attended apple festival every year in October. Carolina in the Fall music festival is in September and hosted by the Kruger Brothers in downtown Wilkesboro. N. Wilkesboro Speedway is 25 minutes away. Elkin has many trails for walking and hosts the NC Trail Days the first weekend in June. Reevestock is a music festival held the first weekend of August in Elkin. The Reeves Theater hosts live music every week.
I live on the property in a separate building that was originally a dry goods store (circa 1880). I'm the two story brown house on the other side of the log cabin.
Art lessons available for an extra fee. I have two pottery wheels, a slab roller, and a kiln. I have a degree in art and teach in the public school system.
I close my apartment the beginning of December through the end of March because of unpredictable weather.
