No smoking allowed in room or outside on premises. Guests who smoke or use vapor type devices will be charged an additional $200 fee for cleaning and restoration. Under no circumstances is smoking permitted inside. Smoking is only permitted outside on the premises if the home's policy allows. No Smoking Policies are strictly enforced. Violations will result in charges to guest for additional cleaning and could result in eviction of guests without refund and/or negation of rental in future.
Dog friendly for 1 dog allowed with paid pet rent of $25.00 per dog per night reserved plus tax. Premises that allow pets only allow friendly, housebroken, flea free dogs over 12 months old that are on a veterinarian approved monthly flea/tick treatment and prevention program. Birds, cats, and all other pets are prohibited. Families that bring dogs are required to follow pet policies and pay non-refundable pet rent for each dog as applicable with their reservations. Unauthorized pets shall result in eviction and/or at Carolina Retreats' sole discretion double pet rent plus tax per reserved night payable on demand for each pet. Policies are strictly enforced.

Summary: After booking an overnight stay, I was emailed a 9-page document that I had to initial in 4 places and sign. Way too much work for a one-night stay. The towels were wrapped in Saran Wrap (weird — just give me clean towels), and there was a signed photo of Mel Gibson on display. You know the racist, sexist, antisemitic actor Mel Gibson. We had no contact with anyone while we were there and it took two emails and a text to get my question answered about sheets/pillowcases. We had a good time but will choose a place more welcoming and responsive on our next trip.
