Welcome to Rocky River Retreat II - A small, cozy home away from home!
Location! What better way to spend your vacation than to stay at a home just a few short miles away from Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. This home sits right outside of Bat Cave and is only 3 miles from Chimney Rock and 6 miles from Lake Lure. Want to plan a day trip to a nearby popular city? Asheville is 23 miles away, Downtown Hendersonville is 15 miles away, and the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) is 23 miles away. Plan the perfect itinerary for your trip, knowing these great cities are just miles away!
This newly renovated home has the perfect amount of homey feel to make your vacation feel like a home away from home. When you enter the cottage, you enter the kitchen with the dining table to the left—a fully functional kitchen with utensils to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Straight ahead of the kitchen, you will find a coffee bar with a standard auto-drip coffee maker and coffee mugs to start your day off right. Turn to the left, and you will enter the living room. Here, you will find a cozy L-shaped sofa perfect for getting comfortable and watching a movie on the TV. In addition to the coziness of the living room couch, look to the left, and you will be able to enjoy the view of the beautiful outdoors. Walk through the sliding door onto the deck and enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee on the deck overlooking the Rocky Broad River. Listen to the sounds of the river, birds chirping, and the leaves moving in the wind. The view and sounds are sure to make you feel like you’re in paradise. Walk back into the home from the deck, and the bathroom will be on your left. A beautiful, updated bathroom with the perfect touches and a walk-in glass shower. Back through the living room, straight ahead, you will walk into the bedroom with a queen-sized bed. The functional bedroom features a closet as well as a washer and dryer. This romantic home has the perfect touches to make your vacation relaxing. AREA WIDE NOTICE: Lake Lure will undergo a drawdown from January 1st, 2025, through the first quarter of 2025 (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet have been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. For more information, click here. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. This will not affect the smaller lakes in the area, only Lake Lure itself.
