Discover Almost Heaven, a newly listed 2-bedroom retreat with hot tub nestled in the mountains just outside Burnsville, NC. This stunning home, overlooking the South Toe River and Mount Mitchell Golf Course, offers an elegant yet cozy setting with soaring ceilings, walls of windows, and an extraordinary collection of history books and classic novels. Have long chats next to the fire, play games with friends, sit around the fire table on the deck and relax to the sound of the river below.
We live off site, but are always happy to help. All guests receive our guidebook to the area, which also contains a house manual with information to assist you during your stay.
Located near Mount Mitchell and Mount Mitchell Golf Course, the neighborhood is a beautiful community nestled into the mountains with a serene river view. The roads are maintained by the HOA and are plowed in winter.

For example, Mt Mitchell State Park is closed, but there are several other stunning vistas to be found at other locations. To keep base rates lower, the hot tub is optional. Since most guests use it, the fee is automatically added. If you don’t plan to use it, let us know at least two weeks before arrival, and we’ll refund the hot tub (management) fee. A signed waiver is required per our insurance. Please follow all hot tub rules in the rental agreement and posted at the cabin.
