Welcome to 'Uptown Betty,' a thoughtfully designed 100-year-old historic artist's home in Downtown Raleigh. The huge downstairs unit is furnished with presidential suite auction items from the Waldorf Astoria in NYC. It is also decorated with rare collectible art pieces and original Disney cells. The home is IN downtown in the historical section of the vibrant and trendy Glenwood South. It has fine linens, a fantastic coffee station, and some serious history, charm & personality!
Upon leaving the front door of this stunning house in downtown Raleigh, you will be a stone's throw away from the vibrant and bustling Glenwood South. Over 30 restaurants, locally-run shops, nightclubs, and galleries are within a walking distance from this location. Additionally, Raleigh's complimentary R-Line bus service is only one block away, making it easier for you to explore the downtown area. Whether you're in town for work or leisure, this location is unbeatable!
As for the home, as soon as you step inside, you'll be surrounded by incredible and rare art that includes original Disney director sketches, some drawn by Roy Disney! The furnishings are from the auction of the presidential suite in the Waldorf Astoria in NYC, and you'll feel like a VIP staying in such a luxurious space. But it's not just about the art and furniture - this home has so much to offer! You'll love relaxing on the large front porch while watching the city action, and the small quiet back deck is perfect for grilling and chilling. And don't even get us started on the off-the-hook coffee station - French press, pod, drip, pour-over, teas... high-quality coffee with ALL the fixings! Inside the home, you'll have access to lightning-fast wifi, fluffy Turkish cotton bath towels, and Paul Mitchell shampoos to make your stay even more comfortable. We have Roku TVs with private log-ins to all major TV apps and tons of free TV and movies, so you won't miss your favorite shows while you're away. Our home features two TVs, one in the master and one in the second bedroom, perfect for relaxing in bed after a long day of exploring the city. With in & outdoor dining areas for up to 8 people, a fully stocked kitchen, phone chargers, and a Bluetooth speaker, we have everything you need to make your stay unforgettable.
Let's talk about the bed situation and setup! There's a bedroom with a king bed and an en-suite full bath. In addition, you'll find a fold-out twin bed with all the bedding conveniently tucked away in the wall-in closet. You'll also have access to another bedroom with a queen bed, a cozy pocket-sized bedroom with a twin, and a converted sunroom bedroom with a double bed.
Please note that Betty is an older home and the bottom unit in a duplex, so you may encounter some street noise or hear neighbors walking around upstairs. However, we assure you that our team has taken every step possible to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. We provide white noise/fans for light sleepers and have installed sound-dampening curtains to minimize any noise disruptions during your stay.
This home is owner-managed and cleaned with love. We respond fast, live locally, and make deep and meaningful connections with our guests while giving you all the privacy you desire.
No smoking in the home. As per Wake County short-term rental statutes, no parties are permitted. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8:30 am.
