Positive: The Fox and Hounds is a country pub on the main road through the village of Willingham on Stow in Lincolnshire. The atmosphere inside and the service from all the staff is superb. This was my second overnight stay in one of the rooms built on the back of the pub. The room is comfy and has everything you would want for an overnight or a short stay. Comfy bed, shower and loo, coffee and tea and biscuits, wardrobe and cupboards and a desk and a good sized tv. Inside the pub there are a variety of spaces in which to drink or eat or chill. The food is superb with specials along with a good variety of homemade dishes. I had a superb liver and onions last year but was split between a haddock fish and chips or a beef salad. Because it had been a warm day, I chose the salad which was large and interesting. Homemade pickle a warm little loaf plenty of beef and a load of interesting salad. On tap was Timothy Taylors’ Landlord, one of the best ales in the country. Feeling very well looked after I also went for an ice cream sundae with strawberry as my choice of flavour. The staff were so very busy but efficient, pleasant and all you could possibly want as a single customer. Thanks again and I hope to visit next year too.
