Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: We needed a place to stay on Harkers Island so we could go to Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout. Few rentals were available when we looked but this place was available and the location was perfect for our needs.

Negative: This is an addition to the back of a house. It’s clean and has everything you would need for a short term rental. It is dated, has a double bed with a very soft mattress and the WiFi didn’t work for us. Even if I typed in the network name it wouldn’t pull up WiFi and this may be because it’s in an isolated place. We stayed there 2 nights and I washed the 3 glasses and one fork we used but did not start the towels in the washing machine and take the trash out to the trash can as the written discharge instructions requested. I didn’t feel that was appropriate for a 2 night stay and for the price we were paying. We had no contact with the owner other than a wave before an impending storm.

Summary: Good location for us but dated apartment
