Built in 1932, The Country Store Cottage served for many years as both a residence and a country store in the beautiful North Cove Valley. It is nestled in the Pisgah National Forest of the Western North Carolina Mountains between Marion and Linville Falls. It is conveniently located near popular tourist destinations that include Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, Linville Caverns, Linville Falls, The Linville Falls Winery, The English Farmstead Cheese Company, Little Switzerland, Wisemans View, Lake James, The Orchard at Altapass, and the Blue Ridge Parkway just to name a few. Several hiking trails and golf courses are also located close by.
The Country Store Cottage boasts of experiencing all four seasons. In the Spring, Dogwoods and Rhododendrons bloom to picturesque beauty. Hay fields line both sides of the road and if you're lucky you may catch a glimpse of the family of deer that strolls through in the evenings. Summertime temperatures allow comfortable hiking and fishing outings, or off-road biking at Kitsuma Peak/Young's Ridge, Curtis Creek Recreation Area, Woods Mountain, or Lake James State Park.
The autumn leaves are a must see with all tourists during the Fall. Their beauty can be viewed from every angle of the cottage. Winter is not to be outdone, as the cottage is convenient to the ski slopes in both Boone and Banner Elk.
Shoppers also have a lot of options. Local artisans have their goods for sale during local festivals like The Mountain Glory, The WNC Bigfoot Festival, and Wooly Worm Festivals. There is also a variety of shopping available in the Marion area that includes the Vintage Market in downtown.
