Summary: On the VRBO website, the house looks lovely. And strictly from the inside, it's nice enough. But there are a few major issues I missed. I wouldn't stay there again.* The surrounding houses are creepy...rundown shacks.* The house has lots of windows with flimsy curtains, so there was a significant lack of privacy.* Maybe I missed it in the listing, but there is another rental on the lower level, which I didn't know about. A previous renter showed up about 11:00 p.m., knocking on our door. Apparently, she lost her phone during her stay there. It was scary. I called 911 because someone kept knocking very late at night. It worked out. The police came, she found her phone. But it was extremely stressful. The way the listing reads..."Upstairs of a duplex (whole house can be rented)" - I didn't realize two groups could rent at the same time.* The farewell instructions were bizarre. I paid a cleaning fee, but the managing agent instructed me to wash the towels, run the dishwasher, etc. If I hadn't paid the cleaning fee, alright. But I paid a cleaning fee, so I didn't understand those requests. That's never happened to me before.
