Town: Ninfield is a village in East Sussex four miles north of Bexhill-on-Sea and the same distance from Battle. To the west lies Standard Hill, where William the Conqueror may have put his standard after Hastings. Ninfield was a smuggling hub in the 18th century, but today it's a tranquil Sussex village with traditional pubs, a village green, and great hikes with views of the sea. Ninfield offers the best of Bexhill and Battle to visitors. The traditional coastal town of Bexhill-on-Sea features shops, restaurants, and bars. It's the origin of British motor racing and home to the De La Warr Pavilion, which hosts exhibits. Cute beach huts are available for day use, and the sea is safe for sailing, rowing, and windsurfing. Bexhill Sailing Club hosts races from March to November, and members of the local Rowing Club are often visible riding the waves. Battle is known for its rich history, with Battle Abbey towering above its centre and historical buildings lining its narrow lanes.
